Heart of Kentucky Chorus Christmas Show

From 3:00PM to 5:00PM

Christmastime Is Here. A Holiday Celebration in Song HCS Performing Arts Center Sunday, December 8th, 3:00PM. The Heart of Kentucky Chorus, under the direction of Aaron Dale, will perform their annual Christmas show at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center, 384 W.A. Jenkins Road, Elizabethtown on Sunday, December 8th at 3:00PM. The 43-member mixed chorus has been preparing this year’s eclectic selection of religious and conventional holiday songs since July. Dale, a music teacher in the Hardin County Schools, has been leading the chorus for two years. He’s been active with barbershop music as a judge, performer, coach, director, and arranger for many years. Earlier this year he was inducted into the Barbershop Harmony Society International Hall of Fame, recognizing him for his contributions on the musical culture of barbershop harmony as an art form through his collective body of work. This year’s show will feature soloists, quartets, and ensembles performing a cappella vocal harmony including our special guest First Take quartet, awarded third place bronze medals at the 2023 Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Competition. First Take specializes in modern barbershop harmony arrangements and has entertained audiences worldwide. Thanks to our sponsors, the Christmas show benefits local non-profits. Our sponsors this year are Swope Family of Dealerships, The Cecilian Bank, and South Central Bank. The music programs at East Hardin Middle School will receive a portion the proceeds this year. The school has been very gracious in allowing the chorus to use their facility for rehearsals every Thursday evening. For many years the show was held on a Saturday night, but was moved to Sunday afternoon this year for the benefit of families, “kids from one to ninety two” as lyrics from The Christmas Song say. The audience will also enjoy singing with the chorus on one of the Christmas carols. All will find it a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. Tickets can be purchased online at thepac.net website, $20 orchestra level, $15 balcony, and $10 children ages 3-18.
