FOHCAS Dirty Dog Bash to be held Saturday, August 3, 2024

Proceeds benefit community animals

Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter (FOHCAS) has announced its major fundraising event, the Dirty Dog Bash, for Saturday, August 3, 2024.  Proceeds from the event benefit the FOHCAS mission to support the work of Hardin County Animal Shelter, advocate for homeless animals and provide low cost spay/neuter options to reduce the number of unwanted animals. It will be held at a beautiful indoor location, The Venue at Highland Farm in Elizabethtown, 1377 Hutcherson Lane.

“The Venue is the perfect place to celebrate the 10h Anniversary of FOHCAS,” said Myra Covault, FOHCAS President. “We are honored and thrilled that local artist Courtney Ballard has generously agreed to create an original piece to be unveiled at our live auction that captures the spirit of shelter animals. A local favorite, Kevin Jaggers, will provide live music, and customized dog-themed drinks are on the menu along with a delicious dinner.”

FOHCAS is a tax-exempt 501c3 charitable organization formed in January 2014 to provide financial support to Hardin County Animal Shelter. It provides a medical fund for sick/injured animals brought into the shelter, educates the public on responsible pet ownership, facilitates adoption and rescue of homeless dogs and cats in our community and helps spay/neuter pets in Hardin County. It is strictly a volunteer organization - 100% of the money raised by the organization is used to benefit homeless dogs and cats.

FOHCAS provides financial support for a full-time veterinarian at the shelter to provide veterinary care for sick and injured shelter pets, worked to reduce the number of unwanted animals through a low-cost Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), provided total financial support to Hardin County’s Return to Field Program, which addresses the over-population of cat colonies, and remain dedicated to providing transport for hundreds of dogs to rescue groups across North America. FOHCAS supports Springhaven’s recent efforts to allow domestic violence survivors to keep their dogs and cats with them when they leave an abusive environment, and focuses on making a positive impact on animal welfare issues through involvement in animal advocacy.

Tickets for Dirty Dog Bash are $75 per person and include dinner, a souvenir glass and drink voucher. The evening will feature a live and silent auction, cash bar, bottle pull and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased online at www.fohcas.org under News & Events. Anyone interested in donating or becoming a sponsor can learn more on the website or email fohcas.ky@gmail.com.
